Maple Pie Recipe
Every Thanksgiving, for as long as I can remember, we have had Maple Pie as part of our vast selection of pies. It has always been my favorite. Thanksgiving just wouldn’t be the same without this pie. It is rich, it is sweet, and it brings to mind that wonderful Thomas Jefferson quote…
“I am led to expect that a material part of the general happiness which Heaven seems to have prepared for mankind, will be derived from the manufacture and general use of maple sugar.”
Maple Pie
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (or heavy cream if you prefer)
2/3 cup of maple syrup
pinch of salt
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan. Cook on very low heat, stir constantly until it boils up in the middle. Pour into pie shell and allow it to cool. Serve with freshly whipped cream on top.
